Fall Semester

Provides students with an introduction to real estate development including market analysis, site development and the funding/financing of real estate development projects. Throughout the semester students will gain an understanding of the role that a developer of real estate undertakes to transform an idea into constructed project. Students participate under a team-oriented format and are asked to resolve a real-world real estate development opportunity.

Spring Semester

We team with the Triangle Chapter of the Urban Land Institute to offer a project-based learning seminar that enables students to take on roles and form teams in response to a Request for Proposals. Students must reconcile competing agendas, consider tradeoffs and craft well designed, market-responsive, and sustainable development strategies. Students generate a financial pro forma and physical model of their proposal and presents their results to a mock City Council.
