Bio

Mack Paul is an attorney living in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is co-founder and partner at Morningstar Law Group, specializing in land use, affordable housing, and public-private partnerships. is legal work is recognized by a number of rating organizations, including Chambers USA, Martindale Hubbell, Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers, and Leaders in Law. Mack currently serves as board chair of Majority Rising NC and Longleaf Policy Lab and is a board member of Common Cause North Carolina.

 He served as chair of the Greater Triangle Regional Council and has worked on various commission and task forces addressing growth issues such as the Special Transit Advisory Commission. The News & Observer has published numerous articles by Mack addressing regional planning and economic development. He is a co-author of Miracle Road: the Story of Research Triangle Park to be published by Duke University Press in fall 2026.

 Mack obtained his B.A. in History from Dartmouth College, an M.S. in International Education from the University of Southern California and a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law. Mack has a strong interest in issues of economic mobility and place-based strategies to address poverty, leveraging the research of Raj Chetty at Opportunity Insights.
